Connecting Veterans, Active Duty, Families, and Caregivers with Community Resources

The Northwest Florida community is coming together to improve the lives, health, and well-being of veterans, service members, and their families.
We’re bringing dozens of trusted Patriot Partners together under one roof at the Pensacola State College Milton Campus for the VetCV Mission Next Veteran Resource Fair—a no-cost, high-impact event packed with real help, real people, and real results.
Walk in and walk out with answers for:
- Immediate help enrolling in VA benefits you’ve earned
- Direct connections to jobs, career coaching, and employer partners
- Healthcare, mental health, housing, education, and family support resources—all in one place
- Face-to-face conversations with local elected officials, community leaders, and Patriot Partners who genuinely want to help

Days of Military Remembrance
- January 2nd – Mission Next Center reopens after the holiday break.
- 2nd – Army Nurse Corps Birthday – First established on February 2nd, 1901.
- 3rd – Four Chaplains Day – A Day to remember the four U.S. Army Chaplains who made the ultimate sacrifice when the USAT Dorchester sank during World War II.

Month of the Military Caregiver -
During the month of March, Americans recognize and honor Military Caregivers’ sacrifices and achievements.
- 3rd – Navy Reserve Birthday
- 5th – Seabee Birthday – Since March 5, 1942, the United States Navy has employed an elite cadre of construction battalions, more commonly known as Seabees.
- 13th – K-9 Veterans Day – A day to celebrate the thousands of dogs on the front lines of military battlefields across the globe, as they serve valiantly in conjunction with their human counterparts.
- 25th – Medal of Honor Day – A day established by Congress as National Medal of Honor Day to “foster public appreciation and recognition of Medal of Honor recipients.”
- 29th – Vietnam Veterans Day – A day set aside as a day for Americans to honor the courage and sacrifice of those who served in the Vietnam War.
Month of the Military Child -
The month of April is set aside to recognize military children and youth for their courage, sacrifices, and resilience.
- 5th – Gold Star Spouses Day – A day set aside to honor spouses of military members who lost their lives in service to the country.
- 14th – Air Force Reserve Birthday
- 15th – Purple Up! Day – “Purple Up! For Military Kids” is a day for Department of Defense Education Activity communities to wear purple to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices.

- 30th – National Military Brats Day - A day set aside to honor the children of military personnel.
National Military Appreciation Month -
During the month of May, the American people show appreciation to the U.S. Armed Forces.
- 1st – Silver Star Banner Day – The day honors the sacrifices of the U.S. military personnel as well as those awarded with the Silver Star.
- *6th – Military Spouse Appreciation Day – Celebrated the Friday before Mother's Day - Many United States citizens take this day to acknowledge the significant contributions, support, and sacrifices of spouses of their Armed Forces.
- 8th – VE (Victory in Europe) Day – A day that marks the anniversary of the Allies’ victory in Europe during World War II (1945).
- 13th – Children of Fallen Patriots Day – A day to salute the sacrifice of military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. This date shows appreciation for the young people whose lives were forever changed in support of their parents' service to our country.
- *21 – Armed Forces Day – Observed on the third Saturday of May - this is a day dedicated to paying tribute to men and women currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.
- *26 – Memorial Day – Observed on the last Monday in May - A solemn occasion to honor the men and women who died in military service for the United States. The Veterans Memorial Park Memorial Day Ceremony is typically held on the Sunday before. Learn More.
- 6th – D-Day – Anniversary of the Allied amphibious operations and invasion of German-occupied Normandy, France.
- 14th – U.S. Army Birthday – The founding of the U.S. Army on 14 June 1775, when the Continental Congress authorized the enlistment of expert riflemen to serve the United Colonies during the American War of Independence.
- 25th – Anniversary of the start of the Korean War - Commemoration of the day in which the Korean People's Army crossed the 38th Parallel behind artillery fire in 1950, invading South Korea and starting the Korean War.
- 27th – National PTSD Awareness Day – A Day to bring awareness to issues related to PTSD.
- 4th – Independence Day - A day commemorating the Ratification of the Declaration of Independence by the Second Continental Congress in 1776.
- 27th – Korean War Armistice Day - Anniversary of the signing of the Korean Armistice Agreement in 1953, which marked the end of active combat between the United States, United Nations Command, and the Republic of Korea against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the People's Volunteer Army of China.
- 4th – Coast Guard Birthday - Established by Congress in 1790 originally as the Revenue-Marine and later as the U.S. Revenue Cutter Service before becoming the U.S. Coast Guard in 1915, the USCG celebrates its history of multi-mission service in domestic, international, and foreign waters on this day.
- 7th – Purple Heart Day – A day for Americans to remember and honor the men and women who bravely represented their country and were wounded or killed while serving.
- 14th – VJ (Victory over Japan) Day (1945) - The day when the Imperial Japanese Government accepted the Allied terms of unconditional surrender. The following day, Emperor Hirohito announced the surrender to the Japanese public via radio address.
- 11th – Patriot Day – An annual observance to remember and honor those who were injured or killed during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
- 16th - POW/MIA Recognition Day –Observed on the third Friday of September – A day set aside to remember those who were prisoners of war (POW) and those who are missing in action (MIA), as well as their families.
- 18th – Air Force Birthday - Established as a separate branch of the U.S. Armed Forces with the passing of the National Security Act of 1947, the U.S. Air Force celebrates its role as the technological spearhead of the U.S. Armed Forces.
- 25th - Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day – Observed on the last Sunday of September - A day to honor the families of fallen Service Members.

- 13th – Navy Birthday - Tracing its roots in the Continental Navy of the American War of Independence, the U.S. Navy celebrates the American seafaring tradition and its resolute courageousness when defending the nation far from home.
- 26th – National Day of the Deployed – A day set aside to honor the United States military personnel deployed around the globe. The designation recognizes all of the brave military personnel who have been deployed, are sacrificing, or have sacrificed their lives to defend our country.
Military Family Month -
The month of November is a time to celebrate and recognize all the ways Military Families support their service members.
Warrior Care Month -
November is devoted to raising awareness and addressing the needs of those who were injured during military service.
- 10th – Marine Corps Birthday - Commemoration of the date in 1775 when the Second Continental Congress Decreed the formation of the first 2 battalions of the Continental Marines. November 10th serves as a celebration of the Marine Corps' martial tradition dating back to the 2,200 Marines first recruited out of Tun Tavern and The Conestoga Waggon [sic] in 1775.
- 11th – Veterans Day – The anniversary of the signing of the Armistice Treaty, which ended World War I and is a day to thank military Veterans for their service.

- 7th – Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day – The anniversary of December 7, 1941, “A date which will live in infamy,” on which Imperial Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, signaling the United States’ entrance into World War II.
- 13th – National Guard Birthday
- 17th – National Wreaths Across America Day -Observed on the second Saturday of December - Each December, Wreaths Across America carries out their mission to Remember, Honor, and Teach by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 3,400 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad.
